- remove acinclude.m4 and instead depend on libtool and autoconf-archive
 - rename obsolete INCLUDES to AM_CPPFLAGS
 - add AM_MAINTAINER_MODE (otherwise autogen.sh flag is useless)
 - use an m4 script subdirectory
 - autoreconf -fiv now yields 0 warnings
