The gateway fix worked — the OCR request reached the pod, which booted, took it, and answered 'OCR subsystem is disabled (enable it in Settings → OCR)'. That is the right default for a fresh install and the wrong one for a machine that exists for the next four minutes and was rented specifically to do OCR. An ocr-capability pod now gets CODERAI_OCR_ENABLED, the engine it was asked for, and — when that engine is surya, or this deployment has already accepted it — the licence acknowledgement, because surya is GPL-gated and a pod cannot make that decision for itself. Asking for surya by name is the decision. Env only, never written to config.json: like the seed list, this describes one disposable instance, not a deployment. A test asserts it cannot leak to disk.
