Is New York A No Fault State for Divorce

New York is a no-fault divorce state. No-fault divorce means that couples can seek a divorce without having to prove that one party did something wrong, such as adultery or cruelty. In a no-fault divorce, the spouses can simply state that their marriage has irretrievably broken down and that there is no hope for reconciliation.New York introduced its no-fault divorce law in 2010, making it the last state in the United States to adopt a no-fault divorce option. Prior to this change, individuals seeking a divorce in New York had to establish grounds for divorce, such as adultery, cruelty, abandonment, or imprisonment. Is New York A No Fault State for Divorce
